Made from 75% sheep wool, 15% recycled polyester, and 10% polyester binder with a high recycled content, the Cosywool slabs have all the benefits of sheep wool, while remaining a very affordable, non itch insulation. A truly sustainable insulation manufactured in the UK, using British Wool.
Cosywool slabs have high acoustic insulation properties and are great for partition walls, campervans and as part of a soundproofing system.
Sheep wool insulation has a very low embodied energy, and acts as a moisture buffer by absorbing and releasing excess moisture (it can absorb up to 30% weight for weight in 100% relative humidity conditions). Like all Thermafleece wool products, it is long-lasting, safe to handle, itch free and can contribute to a healthier indoor environment by acting as a moisture buffer and absorbing indoor pollutants such as formaldehyde in the building fabric.
This product may smell 'sheepy', which can become more apparent when in close proximity to it. If you are sensitive to this please consider another product. However, given time to air, any smell will dissipate.

Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for Cosywool (pdf)
EPD's are a way of determining and publishing the environmental impact of products and cover a range of aspects including embodied carbon, measured as the Global Warming Potential (GWP) of the product. The data on the Thermafleece Cosywool, Ultrawool and SupaSoft insulation EPD's is published for the thickness required to achieve an R value of 1 enabling easy comparison with other products.
