KEIM Janus 1.2 is a sustainable interior clay-lime plaster designed for new-build and renovation projects where performance, durability and environmental responsibility matter. This breathable interior plaster is reusable and 100% recyclable, helping reduce waste and support circular construction. Compared with conventional interior plasters, KEIM Janus 1.2 has a lower CO2 footprint and requires less energy to manufacture, making it a strong choice for low-carbon building projects. Its clay-lime composition helps regulate moisture for a healthier indoor environment, while the added lime binder improves strength and stability compared with pure clay plasters.
REVERSIBLE AND RECYCLABLE KEIM Janus is a reusable interior clay-lime plaster designed to support sustainable construction and circular building practices. If required, the plaster can be removed from the wall together with the KEIM paint coating and repurposed as recycled plaster. Removal can be carried out manually after wetting with a scraper, or mechanically using a plaster mill. The resulting fine-grained granulate can then be reused directly on site in a 1:1 ratio as an additive in new KEIM Janus plaster mixes, helping reduce waste, lower material demand and improve resource efficiency. This on-site recycling process makes KEIM Janus a future-ready sustainable plaster solution for new-build and renovation projects.

Application
Apply mixed KEIM Janus 0.5 with a suitable tool in a uniform layer thickness. After sufficient hardening, the surface can be felted with a sponge board or smoothed with a smoothing trowel. Free structuring is also possible without any problems.
Apply in a thickness of at least 3mm and a maximum of 6mm. For thicker layers, apply two coats.
In the case of highly absorbent substrates and/or increased demands on the visual quality of felted surfaces, a two-layer wet-on-wet method is recommended.:
Protect from drying out too quickly. If necessary, keep appropriately moist by spraying for about a day
Finishing
KEIM Janus can be coated with all KEIM interior coating systems. Do not cover with tiles or natural stone.
Reuse
KEIM Janus 0.5 can be removed (uncoated or coated with KEIM silicate paints) after perforation (nail roller) and thorough
pre-wetting by scraping, or in dry condition using a plaster cutter with dust extraction. The fine-particle granules can be
reused as a 50 % additive to new KEIM Janus 0.5 plaster mixes.
