Coloured Earth's synthetic pigment range is a collection of Non-toxic, mineral based pigments suitable for colouring or tinting a wide range of media.

Applications include:

  • Natural paints (e.g clay paints and chalk paints)
  • Varnishes, waxes, stains and glazes
  • Artist paints and pastels
  • Handmade paper

Synthetic pigments are pigments which have been chemically manufactured, often to create the bright colours unobtainable from natural earth pigments.
All of the Coloured Earth Synthetics are manufactured on mineral bases and are non-toxic.

If you are looking for the more earthy tones of natural pigments such as ochres, siennas and umbers take a look at the Coloured Earth Naturals range.

*Due to Yellow Iron Oxides low density you will receive 400g in lieu of 500g, please contact us where you need larger quantities.

Limewash and Lime Paint Stability

Please Note, Due to the alkalinity of Lime, certain pigments will fade rapidly when used with lime based binders.
The synthetic pigments listed below are NOT suitable for use with lime.

  1. India Blue
  2. Monte Carlo Blue
  3. Lemon Yellow
  4. Cinnabar Red
  5. Monte Carlo Green

However, all of the colours in the Coloured Earth Naturals range are suitable for use with lime.
