Breathaplasta Thermal is the perfect solution for quickly improving the thermal performance of solid masonry walls, whether brick, block, or stone. It's a lightweight plaster applied directly to the interior of exterior-facing walls. A 50mm-thick Breathaplasta Thermal will yield a u-value improvement of around 60% on solid masonry walls.
Key Points
- Coverage: 2m² at 10mm thick per 9kg bag.
- Thermal Conductivity: 0.127 W/mk.
- Manufactured using recycled glass and perlite as the insulators with lime as the binder.
- Applied in coats up to 40mm with just 2 hours between coats, up to 80mm per day.
- Breathable, it allows water vapour to permeate.
- UKCA and CE marked with an A1 fire rating
- Reduces the likelihood of mould growth
Application
- Consolidate loose materials and brush away dust.
- Spray water onto porous substrates, typically a light mist 2-3 times, 10-20 minutes before plastering.
- Use Breathaplasta Thermal to fill larger holes and level the wall, as required, before the main plastering. (A primer might be needed when covering multiple substrates to help unify suction rates)
- Apply insulating coats to the desired thickness.
- Allow thermal to cure appropriately.
- Apply Breathaplasta Smooth as a finishing skim coat.
