Silic8 Aerogel Adhesive
Silic8 Aerogel Adhesive is a water-based mineral adhesive and primer designed for use with aerogel insulation boards. It is used to bond Warmshell Aerogel Boards to suitable solid mineral surfaces and can also be applied as a primer over the boards before finishing with Lime Green Solo Onecoat Lime Plaster.
Mechanical Fixings for Aerogel Boards
In addition to adhesive, mechanical fixings are recommended in key situations to help secure the aerogel insulation system.
Use mechanical fixings when installing aerogel insulation above 2000mm.
Use mechanical fixings when installing aerogel insulation over large areas, including one full sheet or larger.
Finishing Coat for Aerogel Insulation
The recommended finish for the aerogel insulation system is a coat of Aerogel Adhesive as a primer followed by 2 passes of the Solo Onecoat Lime Plaster with an embedded mesh in the first pass.
