Keim Colourwash is a limewash effect paint for interior walls that have been previously painted (it can also be used on bare walls and ceilings).
It is the easiest way to create a limewash aesthetic. The Keim Oval Brush is ideal for creating the authentic limewash aesthetic.
The Colourwash system comprises: Colourwash BASE (a one-coat opaque white paint suitable for bare and previously painted walls and ceilings), and one or two coats of Colourwash. Optional surface texture to mimic historic limewash can be created using the Keim Colourwash Textured Undercoat. Bare or new lime plaster surfaces require a coat of Colourwash Lime Primer. See Application Options/Combinations (below) for further details.
In addition to the high quality associated with KEIM Mineral Paints, KEIM Colourwash is like limewash but better! It is supplied ready for use and includes only UV stable pigments. Plus you only need one or two coats of the Colourwash (with traditional limewash you need many, maybe up to six, coats to get a depth of colour).
Drying time: Allow a minimum of 12 hours between coats (if a second coat is necessary).
Approx coverage: Colourwash has a guideline consumption rate of 0.08lt per square metre per coat:
- 1lt = 1 coat onto 12.5m²
- 2.5lt = 1 coat onto 31m²
- 5lt = 1 coat onto 62.5m²
