Beeck Quartz Filler is a textured priming coat designed to level and unify multiple substrates, uneven surfaces, and imperfections (such as hairline cracks) before decoration. Despite the name, it's not used to fill deep imperfections on a substrate. Please consider another mineral-based filler, such as a natural cement filler, to fill deeper imperfections.
Suitable for use interior or exterior. For the interior finish, use Maxil Pro and for the exterior finish, use Renosil Fine.
Key Features
- Hides imperfections on substrates, such as hairline cracks
- It is ideal for use where multiple substrates with varying textures must be covered to create a unified texture before decoration.
- Suitable for both interior and exterior use
- Highly breathable - Sd rating - 0.02m
- VOC content - 4 g/l
- Coverage Rate - Approximately 3.25 m2/kg, this will vary depending on substrate condition.
Application onto vapour open substrates - Vapour open substrates include bare lime plaster, limewash, brick and stone.
- Prepare the surface - ensure the wall is dry and sound with no dust or loose materials. Where your lime plaster/limewash has a build-up of sinter layers (glossy build-up of floated lime), please consider using Beeck Etching Fluid before continuing to remove these sinter layers, which will improve the paint's chemical adhesion to the substrate.
- Priming coat - Use Beeck Fixative, which primes and stabilises the substrate before painting. Thin Beeck Fixative with one part fixative and two parts water. Allow 12 hours to dry. Beeck Fixative covers approximately 20-25m2 per kg on smooth surfaces.
- Apply Quartz Filler - Dilute Quartz Filler with 10-15% Beeck Fixative.
- Apply Beeck decorative finish
Application onto vapour closed substrates - Vapour closed substrates include gypsum-based, cement, and acrylic paints and substrates. Priming coats are not required for these substrates.
- Apply Quartz Filler - Dilute Quartz Filler with 10-15% Beeck Fixative.
- Apply Beeck decorative finish
