Beeck Maxil Pro interior silicate masonry paint that's suitable for use in traditional and modern buildings. It is ideal for use on most interior wall surfaces, such as lime plaster, limewash, gypsum substrates and existing conventional emulsions. Beeck paints were established in 1894 and are tried and tested on projects worldwide.
Among the most breathable paints on the market. Vapour-open (breathable) paints help regulate indoor humidity, which improves indoor air quality.
Key Features
- Perfect for use on mineral substrates such as lime plaster
- Silicate paints create a chemical bond with the substrate, offering high durability levels
- Highly breathable - Sd rating - 0.01m
- Opacity / Hiding Power - Class 1 (EN 13300)
- Wet Scrub Resistance - Class 1 (EN 13300)
- VOC - Max 2 g/l
- Flammability - Class A2 non-flammable (EN 13501-1, DIN 4102)
- Mould resistant with a PH of approximately 11
- Free from preservatives and biocides
- Beeck only uses natural UV-resistant pigments in their paint
Coverage Rate - The coverage rate for Maxil Pro is approximately 7m2 per litre per coat on smooth substrates. Coverage rates will be lower on rougher substrates; as a guide, the coverage will be approximately 4.5m2 per litre on brick/blockwork, though the coverage on your substrate might vary. Beeck Maxil Pro can be brushed, rollered or sprayed onto suitable surfaces.
Application onto vapour open substrates - Vapour open substrates include bare lime plaster, limewash, brick and stone.
- Prepare the surface - ensure the wall is dry and sound with no dust or loose materials. Where your lime plaster/limewash has a build-up of sinter layers (glossy build-up of floated lime), please consider using Beeck Etching Fluid before continuing to remove these sinter layers, which will improve the paints chemical adhesion to the substrate.
- Priming coat - Use Beeck Fixative, which primes and stabilises the substrate before painting. Thin Beeck Fixative with one part fixative and two parts water. Allow 12 hours to dry. Beeck Fixative covers approximately 20-25m2 per kg on smooth surfaces.
- First coat - Apply the first coat of Maxil Pro, diluting the first coat of paint with 10-15% water before application. Allow 12 hours to dry.
- Second coat - Apply the second coat of Maxil Pro with no water dilution. Allow to dry to finish.
Application onto vapour closed substrates - Vapour closed substrates include gypsum-based, cement, and acrylic paints and substrates. Priming coats are not required for these substrates.
- Prepare the surface - ensure the wall is dry and sound with no dust or loose materials.
- First coat - Apply the first coat of Beeck Maxil Pro, diluting the first coat of paint with 10-15% water before application. Allow 12 hours to dry.
- Second coat - Apply the second coat of Beeck Maxil Pro with no water dilution. Allow to dry to finish.
If the substrate is in poor condition please consider using Beeck Quartz Filler as a bridging coat
