Great Big Green Week
Posted by Sarah, Celtic Sustainables on 2nd Jun 2026
Running from 6–14 June 2026, The Climate Coalition Great Big Green Week is the UK’s largest community-led celebration of action for climate and nature.
Since launching in 2021 with more than 5,000 events nationwide, it has grown into a powerful movement that brings together communities, schools, businesses, and organisations to take practical action for a greener future.
This Year’s Theme: Together for Good
This theme reflects a simple but powerful truth: when people come together in their communities, they create real benefits for local places, nature, the climate, and future generations.
From small everyday actions to larger community events, Great Big Green Week highlights the positive impact collective action can have.
How Can You Get Involved?
There are countless ways to take part, whether with your:
- School
- Family
- Community group
- Place of worship
- Business or workplace
You could organise a litter pick, plant wildlife-friendly spaces, host a sustainability event, support local green initiatives, or simply start conversations that inspire change.
Closer to Home: Climate Cymru
Here in Wales, sister organisation Climate Cymru is helping communities work together to protect the places we call home and create a better future for younger generations.
On Earth Day (22 April), they brought their message to the Senedd, highlighting how challenges around energy, nature, and communities are deeply connected—and setting out practical solutions for a stronger, fairer Wales.
Their message says it perfectly:
“Let’s build a better and fairer Cymru, together.”

Stuck for Ideas?
Check out our Quest Toilet Rolls. Each roll features “World Changing Quests” designed to inspire greener habits at home, making them a simple but impactful way to support a more sustainable lifestyle during Great Big Green Week and beyond.
Small everyday swaps can make a real difference. Quest Toilet Rolls are made in the UK from 100% recycled paper, completely plastic free, and even plant a tree for every 48-roll box sold.
Together, we can strengthen our communities, protect our natural world, and show decision-makers that people across Wales want positive change.
