Organowood Repellent 02
Organo Wood Repellent 02 is a water based treatment that protects against dirt, water and damp. It is made up of organic silicon polymers and natural growth substances without the addition of toxic heavy metals or biocides. Organo Wood Repellent 02 is specifically designed for superficial treatment of Organo Wood timber but can also be used in combination with Organo Wood Protector 01, as part of a complete protection system for untreated pine and fir. In addition, Organo Wood Repellent 02 may also be used as a highly effective wood oil on other types of wood such as traditional pressured impregnated wood, larch and pine.
Organo Wood Repellent 02 is absorbed into the fibres of the wood to create an extremely water repellent surface preventing damp, water and dirt from penetrating. In addition, movement of damp within the wood is also reduced, therefore decreasing the generation of new cracks.
Ogano Wood Repellent 02 is free from biocides and heavy metal compounds such as copper, chromium and arsenic (CCA). It is transparent and does not discolour treated wood significantly however, when used in conjunction with Organo Wood Protector 01, or when applied to Organo Wood timber, wood may become lighter after a few days outside. With the passage of time, all wood treated with Organo Wood Repellent 02 will age and adopt a silver grey appearance.
- Coverage: 1 Litre = 8-10 m2
- Drying time: 2-4 hours
Organo Wood timber and wood already treated with Organo Wood Protector 01, must be cleaned of all possible salt presipitation before Organo Wood Repellent 02 is applied. The surface of all Organo Wood timber should be treated with Organo Wood Repellent 02, except at cut sections, where Organo Wood Protector 01 must also be applied.
- Apply with a brush or roller, in the direction of the grain.
- Allow to 2-4 hours to dry.
- For optimum protection, apply 2 coats.
- Maintain wood by applying Organo Wood Repellent 02 when needed.
Once applied, Organo Wood Repellent 02 is absorbed into wood and hardens during the drying process. This creates a physical barrier of silicon molecules around wood fibres. Due to this dense new structure, conventional paint can no longer penetrate which means that bonding will not occur properly.
