Lime Green Roman Stucco Finish is a fast setting Roman-Cement based decorative render. It can be used in the repair and replacement of decorative mouldings and cast elements as well as plain rendering. The Fast setting nature of Roman Stucco allows work to be finished rapidly and thick layers to be built out.
The Roman Stucco Finish should only be used as a finishing coat. Roman Stucco Undercoat should be used first for any levelling and building out.
Historically Stucco was used as an exterior wall render to create highly detailed and decorative render finishes on building facades, popular on the many fine Regency and Victorian houses of London, Cheltenham, Hastings, Leamington Spa and many other towns. Lime green Roman Stucco is based on a Roman cement, a traditional binder invented around 200 years ago. Roman Stucco gives a unique and beautiful finish and Like lime renders, is flexible and breathable with an excellent resistance to weather.
Lime Green make their Roman Stucco from burnt limestone and mineral sands, not resins and acrylics, you can achieve the subtle patinas and matt finishes for a natural look. And because it is made from stone, it ages and weathers like stone. Enabling you to repair work with like for like detail
Coverage
Each bag will cover approximately 3m2 at 5mm thick. Allow for 1.6kg of dry powder per mm of thickness over 1m2.
Mixing
Add between 5 and 6 litres of clean water per 20kg sack and mix until a smooth creamy consistency is
reached. Water and materials should be stored and used between 5°C and 25°C.
Surface Preparation
Backgrounds should be porous, clean and dust free before starting.
Application
Apply using a hawk and trowel or suitable spray machine. The required thickness and method will vary depending on the background.
Roman Stucco Finish Coat should be applied to the damp undercoat while it is still “green”, there
is no need for long drying times between coats. For old, dry backgrounds a primer will help control
suction. See the datasheet linked below for for a more detailed application guide.
Aftercare
Apply in temperatures above 3°C and below 25°C, keeping the stucco damp while it cures. Do
not force dry or allow strong sun or wind to rapidly dry it. Instead allow the stucco to slowly dry
out over 3 to 10 days.
