Pure Lime Grout from Lime Green has been developed to strengthen, stabilise and consolidate masonry walls in historic structures, without compromising the required breathability.
Mixed to a slurry, the grout is poured or injected into masonry walls where it will flow to fill the holes and cracks which are weakening the structure. This process is often used in conjunction with repointing to fix Old walls.
Please Note: This is not suitable as a tiling or flooring grout.
Coverage
25kg yields approx 16 to 17 litres wet mixed grout. Approx 62 bags per m3
of grout
Surface Preparation
Re-point the masonry using a suitable mortar, (e.g. Lime Green Natural Lime Mortar), leaving weep holes at regular heights. To aid the flow of the grout, pre-wet the masonry by flushing with water.
How To Mix
Add approximately 6 to 7 litres of clean water to a 25kg bag of grout and mix using a drum mixer or drill and paddle. Mix until a thin easily pourable consistency is achieved. Use immediately, do not allow to stand. Specialist low pressure mixing pumps can also be used.
Application
Carefully pump or pour the grout into the wall. As the grout appears at the weep holes, temporarily plug them with clay. Once the Pure Lime Grout has set, the clay should be removed and the weep holes pointed.
