Earthborn Furniture Wax is a clear wax that provides a water-repellant satin finish to interior wood surfaces. It can also be used over Earthborn Claypaint to produce a durable and decorative effect on furniture. Waxed surfaces will remain breathable, protected and maintained, repelling water, dust and grease.
While the wax is water-repellant it doesn't form a fully sealed protective layer against strongly pigmented liquids such as coffee, fruit juices or wine. Because of its microporous structure, these types of liquids can penetrate through the wax layer and may reach the underlying surface, potentially leading to stains that are difficult to remove. We wouldn’t recommend long term contact of waxed furniture with water (so avoid keeping waxed furniture outside).
It is ideal for keeping splashes away from painted woodwork as well as repelling dust, however we wouldn't recommend it for use in kitchens or on coffee tables etc. See alternative finishes end of this page.
Certified as being safe to use on children’s furniture and toys (carries the Safety of Toys Standard EN71-3:2019).
Drying time: Can be polished after 30-45 minutes, depending on drying conditions.
This product needs several days to fully cure. During this period, wipe any spills or liquid immediately.
