Natural Materials Summit – 21st October
Sharing knowledge, making connections and helping natural building materials become the norm.

On Wednesday 21st October, Ian, Anthony and Andy from Celtic Sustainables headed to Swindon for the ASBP Natural Materials Summit 2026, held at the National Self Build & Renovation Centre (NSBRC).

The event brought together experts, manufacturers and professionals from across the natural building materials sector to explore how we can create healthier, lower-carbon, high-performing buildings. With a focus on natural fibre insulation, lime-based building products, and natural paints and finishes, it was a great opportunity to learn, share ideas and catch up with familiar faces.

Catching up with familiar faces
The team had the chance to connect with some familiar names from the industry, including Earthborn, KEIM and Lime Green, alongside many other businesses and professionals who share our passion for more sustainable building.
Events like this are about much more than seeing the latest products. They give everyone involved in natural building a chance to exchange experience, discuss challenges and discover new ways to use materials effectively.

Why are natural materials summits important?
At Celtic Sustainables, we believe that making sustainable building choices easier starts with knowledge. Whether you're renovating a traditional stone cottage, insulating a home or choosing finishes for a new project, understanding how materials perform can make a real difference.
Summits like this help to:
- Share practical knowledge: Learn more about how natural insulation, lime plasters, renders, mortars, paints and finishes can work together.
- Build stronger connections: Bring suppliers, manufacturers, builders, designers and specifiers together to exchange ideas and experience.
- Encourage better building practices: Share evidence, practical demonstrations and lessons learned to help people make informed choices.
- Grow demand for sustainable materials: The more knowledge and confidence people have, the more likely they are to consider natural materials for their projects.
The summit combined presentations and discussions with opportunities to ask questions and see practical demonstrations, helping to connect the theory with real-world building applications.
Ultimately, the more we share what works, the better placed we are to support the wider use of materials that can contribute to healthier buildings and a lower-carbon built environment.
