Earthborn pigments are natural earth and mineral powders that can be combined to make additional colours. You can choose from the 48 available colours or mix a combination of these colours for your own custom colour.

Earthborn pigments are also ideal for paint effects. The Mica pigments such as Gold and Silver can be mixed with Earthborn Wall Glaze for metallic effects.

The pigments contain different sizes of particles, which give the colours their vibrancy. Some pigments are UV resistant and all are lime resistant.

Meadow Green, Turquoise, Blue and Oriental Red are Spinel pigments which are pigments enhanced with food colourants.

Ingredients

Earth pigments, mineral pigments, metal pigments, trinatrium citrate. All the pigments are free of poisonous heavy metals.

Recommendations

Instructions

Step one

The pigments must be made into a paste before use.

For water based paints (Casein milk paint, emulsion, Clay paint or Earthborn Wall Glaze)

Mix the desired amount of pigment with a small amount of water (e.g. 100ml) before adding to the product. The pigment should soak in enough water to cover the powder, preferably overnight. Mix well to create a free flowing, liquid paste.

For oil based products

Mix the desired amount of pigment with a small amount of Earthborn Herb & Resin Oil.

        For Silicate

Mix the desired amount of pigment with a small amount of Silicate primer and use straightaway.

Step two

Add the prepared paste to the medium and stir well (a mixing tool attached to an   electric drill is recommended).

Please note: A cloudy appearance can be caused by too high a concentration of very intense colour pigments for example Ultramarine Blue or Red Oxide.
