Celtic Sustainables stock Black Mountain Hemp Insulation.
Materials
Black Mountain Hemp Insulation a natural fibre product made from a unique blend of natural materials including hemp and flax. The hemp fibres selected by Black Mountain are grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides or forced irrigation.
Properties
Black Mountain Hemp Insulation has exceptional insulation properties. Its low thermal conductivity and high thermal mass reduce temperature fluctuations and enhance thermal comfort in the building.
Applications
Hemp is perfect for timber framed walls with its rigid structure and strong fibres preventing slumping and compaction, making it ideal for period property renovations.
Due to its strength and rigidity, Black Mountain Hemp insulation is also suitable for use in warm lofts, internal walls and inter-floor applications, as well as for breathable wall construction. Hemp insulation is both breathable and able to absorb, retain and release moisture without affecting its thermal properties.
Black Mountain Hemp insulation can be used in conjuction with Black Mountain Sheep's Wool insulation, or as an alternative to less effective and environmentally friendly insulations.
Meets the Standards
The hemp insulation meets Part L of the UK Building Regulations.
Fire Resistance Class E.
Thermal Conductivity: 0.04 W/mK.
